Airbnb has just announced their 2022 Winter Release, and with that release comes 9 new/improved features to the Airbnb platform. These new/improved features are geared towards making Hosting on the Airbnb platform more efficient and easier.
Airbnb Setup: This is Airbnb’s attempt to help new Hosts to the platform listing a property by pairing them with another Superhost in the same area. The thought behind this would make the new Host feel more at ease with the process of listing their property for guests to rent when they have never done anything like it. Another part of Airbnb Setup is that the new Host has the option of having the first guest that books with them be an “experienced guest” vs. “non-experienced”. The criteria for an “experienced guest” are: at least three stays and a positive review from those hosts in which they stayed with. Airbnb is also improving their support to be more specialized towards hosts.
Aircover: Airbnb is improving their Aircover policy to include and improve its existing coverage and features. There will be improved Guest Verification, Reservation Screening, $3 Million Damage Protection, $1 Million Liability Insurance, and 24-Hour Safety Line.
Airbnb Categories: Airbnb will be introducing six new categories to guest’s search: New, Top of the World, Trending, Adapted, Play, and Hanoks along with improved personalization and added detail.
Easier Aircover for Hosts Claims Process: Airbnb has made it easier for a host to submit an Aircover Claim.
More Detailed Reviews: Both guests and hosts can now add tags to their reviews to provide more specific details about the reservation.
Ground Rules for Guests: Guests will now be expected to follow the ground rules for the house which is supported by stronger accountability policies, and simpler ground rules interface.
Fast Pay: Hosts can now receive a payout within 30 minutes or less by submitting a debit card as their payout method.
Retaliatory Review Protection: Airbnb has now expanded and improved upon the reasons a Host may dispute and remove a Guests review.
New Category Controls: Coming early 2023, Hosts will be able to see what category their property falls under and add category-specific details to the listing.
